Ageing of the population in Italy is a challenge, as it has the highest life expectancy and low fertility, making Italy a case study in the world. To meet the health needs of an ageing population, which require appropriate responses to increasingly widespread chronic diseases, appropriate health policy interventions are required. This is an important and epochal shift that necessitates the active collaboration and interventions of all those who, in different ways, shape the future of public health: the adaptation of the reference legislation, the investments planned in the context of the Health Mission provided by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, research and experimentation, together with education and information on the opportunities offered by innovative health approaches. Among all, the use of digital health, particularly telemedicine, which employs advanced computer architecture systems to provide remote monitoring for patients with chronic conditions. In this regard, “AmICA project: Intelligent holistic assistance for active ageing in indoor and outdoor ecosystems” – presented by C.I.T.E.L.-Interdepartmental Centre for Research in Telemedicine, University of Bari Aldo Moro and approved by the Ministry of Health – provides a suitable solution to the scientific and social challenges of population ageing: the goal is to invest in the care and well-being of elderly people in Puglia through an ageing model that allows them to maintain a self-sufficient lifestyle for as long as possible using technology.

Abstract
In this regard, “AmICA project: Intelligent holistic assistance for active ageing in indoor and outdoor ecosystems” – presented by C.I.T.E.L.-Interdepartmental Centre for Research in Telemedicine, University of Bari Aldo Moro and approved by the Ministry of Health – provides a suitable solution to the scientific and social challenges of population ageing: the goal is to invest in the care and well-being of elderly people in Puglia through an ageing model that allows them to maintain a self-sufficient lifestyle for as long as possible using technology.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
