Rethinking guidance as a tool to prevent discomfort and early school leaving means recognizing its educational, formative and pedagogical value and creating the conditions for working on human potential in relation to the reference context. This paper describes the results of an exploratory study conducted to analyze the phenomenon of school discomfort in adolescents in the city of Bari. In the light of the new Guidelines for Guidance presented by the Ministry of Education and Merit, the contribution outlines some paths of reflection on school orientation as a possible tool for knowledge and strengthening personal identity, through teaching character skills at school.
Ripensare l’orientamento come dispositivo di prevenzione del disagio e della dispersione scolastica vuol dire riconoscerne il valore educativo, formativo, pedagogico e creare le condizioni affinché sia possibile lavorare sul potenziale umano in rapporto al contesto di riferimento. Il presente contribuito descrive i risultati di uno studio esplorativo condotto per analizzare il fenomeno del disagio scolastico negli adolescenti del territorio barese. Alla luce delle nuove Linee guida per l’orientamento presentate dal Ministero dell’Istruzione e del Merito, il contributo tratteggia alcune piste di riflessione sull’orientamento scolastico come possibile strumento di conoscenza e rafforzamento dell’identità personale, attraverso l’insegnamento delle character skills a scuola.
