La ricerca è concentrata in particolare sulla letteratura tecnica, specialmente de re rustica (Varrone, Columella); si pone attenzione alle diverse specie connesse alla palude e al loro rapporto di necessità/preferenza col territorio e le sue qualità.

Abstract
Romans indicated by palus a genus aquarum (Sen. nat. 6, 7, 1-3), a type of water, predominantly fresh, distinct from stagnum, lacus, flumen. Recent studies have attempted to identify some of its characteristics by interrogating ancient latin literary sources. Given the existence of an environment corresponding to what the marsh represents for us today, identified in its morphology but also in its atmosphere, the aim of this contribution is to investigate whether or not there was a characteristic habitat of the paludes to which a certain type of fauna belonged, either traced in the description of a natural life of the marsh populated by animals, or in the practices of breeding. The research focuses particularly on technical literature, especially de re rustica (Varro, Columella); attention is paid to the different species connected to the marsh and their necessity/preference relationship with the land and its qualities.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
