The volume collects the transcriptions of a series of interviews made by Mirella Conenna to French linguists who she had invited to the University of Bari “Aldo Moro” for a course of lectures. They are all authors of handbooks, renowned specialists of the parts of speeches, representing different theoretical approaches and they answered many questions concerning with French grammar. Drawing on the content of their Italian lessons, they illustrate some results of their own researches as well as their methodological choices within the wider context of the very fruitful developments of contemporary French linguistics. In the introduction Mirella Conenna presents a critical review of the resulting data and furthermore she adds a presentation of the eleven linguists through bio-bibliographical notes.
