Based on some paleographical and codicological reflections, the dating of the socalled Bembinus (Vat. lat. 3226) is reconsidered: the hypothesis of Alessandro Pratesi, universally accepted by scholars, who dates the manuscript to a timespan between the end of the 5th century and the beginning of the 6th century, is rejected. An earlier dating is proposed, between the 4th century and the beginning of the 5th century.

Abstract
Based on some paleographical and codicological reflections, the dating of the socalled Bembinus (Vat. lat. 3226) is reconsidered: the hypothesis of Alessandro Pratesi, universally accepted by scholars, who dates the manuscript to a timespan between the end of the 5th century and the beginning of the 6th century, is rejected. An earlier dating is proposed, between the 4th century and the beginning of the 5th century.File in questo prodotto:
