In the context of the Horizon Seeds project ‘Serious Games for Lifelong Language Learning to Prevent Neurodegenerative Disorders: from gut microbiota to brain networking’, this contribution explores how learners can continuously integrate language learning into their everyday life activities. To this end, it is shown how studies on so-called Linguistic Landscapes are useful for stimulating a conscious perception of one's environment, finding learning impulses in the many places one frequents on a daily basis (street, bar, supermarket, restaurant, etc.). In line with the project, two examples from the field of food were chosen to illustrate this method, which shares the principles underlying the Horizon Seeds project, namely lifelong learning, autonomous learning and multimodal learning.
