Early parenthood is a phenomenon that is little addressed and analyzed by the various disciplines of study, despite its social importance. This volume aims to explore in detail this issue, with its social, educational, economic and psychological implications, in the context of the self-determination of a young person who, for a variety of reasons, finds himself facing the transition to parenthood during the critical period of his existence, namely adolescence. The analyses contained in the book indicate that early parenthood manifests itself more accentuated in those contexts where the socio-cultural dynamics are rooted and influenced by a history that exerts a strong impact on the decisions and expectations of young people. In these circumstances, becoming parents at a young age can be perceived as an almost inevitable path, necessary to place young people in specific roles and areas, within the community to which they belong. For these and other reasons, the investigation of this phenomenon aims to bring clarity and stimulate a debate that can enrich all the human sciences, providing a significant contribution to the deepening of the understanding of that complex reality that lies behind the figure of the young parent, often relegated to silence by society itself. It is a reality that continues to be considered a taboo subject, which is why the corpus of this treatise consists of a series of questions that underlie the entire study. While admitting several possible answers, the topic presents itself as an intricate labyrinth of interconnected variables, which intertwine and collide, in a territory characterized by multiple facets and a constant presence of uncertainty. The synergistic integration of data from different sources, ranging from scientific research to journalistic and online reporting, constitutes a fundamental methodological approach to fully understand the complexity of the phenomenon of adolescent parents.
