E. coli 0157 is an enterohemorrhagic strain (EHEC) that has developed the ability to cause serious human gastrointestinal and systemic disease as hemorrhagic colitis and hemolytic-uremic syndrome. The aim of this study was to detect the presence of E. coli 0157 in fresh sausages and to evaluate the patogenicity of isolated strains.
