The environment is the subject of public speeches by political leaders, because of the urgentneed to create strategies to protect nature and prevent the risks caused by human action. Asa result, ecology has become a major concern in our society. This idea proved relevant in thefirst few months after the start of the pandemic, given the centrality of the environment toeconomic recovery and support for sustainability. In this article, we put forward thehypothesis that the environmental cause is shaping the words of politics, and thatterminological transfers from ecological discourse to political discourse are taking place tosuch an extent that we can speak of a ‘green language’. Following a terminologicalapproach, based on the analysis of a corpus of official speeches by the President of theFrench Republic, Emmanuel Macron, delivered during his first quinquennium (2017-2022)and the first months of his second term (from May 2022), we propose to detect theoccurrences of terms and expressions of such a language and to evaluate their implicationsin discourse (FRANCK 1969). The aim is also to ascertain whether, in one way or another, the pandemic has contributed to the spread of this terminology.

Abstract
The aim is also to ascertain whether, in one way or another, the pandemic has contributed to the spread of this terminology.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
