We will report here on the design and realization of an optoacoustic sensor for trace gas detection. The sensor consists of a commercial quantum cascade laser and a resonant photoacoustic cell. Two different cell configurations have been investigated: a “standard” H-cell and an innovative T-cell. We will describe the results obtained in the detection of different gases, such as nitric oxide, which plays an important role in environmental pollution and in medical diagnostics, and formaldehyde, a gas of great interest for indoor and outdoor air pollution.

Abstract
We will report here on the design and realization of an optoacoustic sensor for trace gas detection. The sensor consists of a commercial quantum cascade laser and a resonant photoacoustic cell. Two different cell configurations have been investigated: a “standard” H-cell and an innovative T-cell. We will describe the results obtained in the detection of different gases, such as nitric oxide, which plays an important role in environmental pollution and in medical diagnostics, and formaldehyde, a gas of great interest for indoor and outdoor air pollution.File in questo prodotto:
