Abstract
Real Biblioteca of Madrid preserves among its final folios an anonymous composition whose incipit “Quando yo no os conosçía” never aroused the interest of critics, despite being a glosa of Juan del Encina’s best-known romances “Mi libertad en sosiego”, included in his famous Cancionero. Encina’s poem was widely circulated both in manuscript — it was transmitted with its musical score in the Cancionero Musical de Palacio — and in print, being compiled in several poetic anthologies of the Golden Age (from the Cancionero General to Nucio’s Cancionero de romances and Flor by Moncayo). The present study aims to propose an edition of this hitherto unpublished glosa, placing it in relation to Encina’s romance and the milieu of court poetry and cancionerilFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
