This contribution presents first the complete set of late ancient inscriptions from provincial Apulia et Calabria, except Benevento. Then the collocation of the late antique milestones is analysed. You found, here as in some other provinces, the increase of the milestones, which is more remarkable, given the shrinkage of other kinds of epigraphs. As a matter of fact milestones represent a significant fraction of the whole remaining corpus. This element points out the relevance of the road-system in the late antique governmental system . The milestones of this period seem mostly placed in significant places. Finally three late antique inscriptions found in Canosa are published: the first unpublished mentions a Sinopesis, possibly a negotiator, the other two need to be studied in more details.
