This paper analyzes the role and the social figure of the teacher who is given a definition that evolves in relation to socio-cultural change in which is called to work. It explain the socialization and social selection functions in schools, within which teacher must deal with the head teacher, colleagues, parents of students and the students themselves. The teacher is asked to review their training to update according to new needs arising from the development of new technologies and opening up multiculturalism. The teacher’s professionalism is a bio pedagogical breakthrough required to make up the value of human life.
