This paper analyses the sources for the harvest planning procedures outlined in laws produced by the Kingdom of Naples and Sicily for forest conservation purposes from the second half of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th. The paper shows that harvest planning had already begun to develop in Italy by that time, and that first procedures had been drawn up describing the forestry manage-ment tasks involved. These procedures were contained in the forestry legislation, previ-ously mentioned which was based on far more detailed provisions adopted in Austria, France and Germany. They aimed to produce the possible greatest amount of product, mainly timber, from within the forests, which were preserved by being renovated on a cyclical basis.

Abstract
This paper analyses the sources for the harvest planning procedures outlined in laws produced by the Kingdom of Naples and Sicily for forest conservation purposes from the second half of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th. The paper shows that harvest planning had already begun to develop in Italy by that time, and that first procedures had been drawn up describing the forestry manage-ment tasks involved. These procedures were contained in the forestry legislation, previ-ously mentioned which was based on far more detailed provisions adopted in Austria, France and Germany. They aimed to produce the possible greatest amount of product, mainly timber, from within the forests, which were preserved by being renovated on a cyclical basis.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
