After a long period of general discredit due to his commitment to Fascism, Gentile's Philosophy has been re-discovered in the Nineties by some English Collingwood scholars who started to take it seriously. Anyway, J.R.M. Wakefield complains that actual idealism is not yet considered in the analytic debate about moral philosophy, even if Gentile would have a lot to say to empower constructivist theories. For this reason, his book represents a trial to "formalise" actualism to allow it to deal with a conceptuality apparently distant from the continental tradition, both explaining Gentile's language and denouncing some inconsistencies in his view of the State.

Abstract
After a long period of general discredit due to his commitment to Fascism, Gentile's Philosophy has been re-discovered in the Nineties by some English Collingwood scholars who started to take it seriously. Anyway, J.R.M. Wakefield complains that actual idealism is not yet considered in the analytic debate about moral philosophy, even if Gentile would have a lot to say to empower constructivist theories. For this reason, his book represents a trial to "formalise" actualism to allow it to deal with a conceptuality apparently distant from the continental tradition, both explaining Gentile's language and denouncing some inconsistencies in his view of the State.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
