This essay provides an account of the pragmatic dimension of the apriori in relation to some leading philosophical approaches of the 20th century. The author brings together early pragmatism, from James to Morris, and Italian transcendentalism (A. Banfi, G. Preti) to underline the straight theoretical filiation of the latter ones from American philosophers. Authors are compared in order to bring to light the original account of the apriori as embedded in pragmatic, hence historical experience, provided by Italian transcendentalism.

Abstract
This essay provides an account of the pragmatic dimension of the apriori in relation to some leading philosophical approaches of the 20th century. The author brings together early pragmatism, from James to Morris, and Italian transcendentalism (A. Banfi, G. Preti) to underline the straight theoretical filiation of the latter ones from American philosophers. Authors are compared in order to bring to light the original account of the apriori as embedded in pragmatic, hence historical experience, provided by Italian transcendentalism.File in questo prodotto:
