Cord prolapse is a severe obstetric emergency that, thug rare, should be properly and promptly managed (in a maximum interval of 30 min) to avoid the worst consequences mainly in terms of neonatal morbidity and mortality. This rare event requires regular multidisciplinary rehearsals (through simu- lations and practical training courses) of all the staff involved in the maternity care, which should be updated on the man- agement of obstetric emergencies—including cord pro- lapse—periodically. The pandemic COVID era made all obstetric emergencies’ management harder because it takes longer to wear the necessary protective equipment.
