Abstract

This paper analyses ten bronze coins recovered in hy pogea G and H and in the alluvial soil that obliterat- ed them during the archaeological investigations car- ried out in 2016-2019 and 2005-2006. The legible coins can be dated to the fourth century AD. The nu- mismatic data is related to the stratigraphy, with the aim of providing useful elements to contribute to the definition of the attendance chronology of hypogea G and H. Particular attention has been paid to the anal- ysis of the only coin found inside a tomb, issued by the usurper Magnentius, and on its possible ritual func- tion.
