Abstract

This paper attempts to highlight a few orientations, directions, and shifts in contemporary philosophy. In the author's understanding, they respond to significant concerns of our time; they are likely to increasingly permeate philosophical scholarship over the next years, and will largely inform the debates at the 24th World Congress in Beijing. Ultimately, the paper will briefly claim why we are going through a revolutionary time in philosophical research -- one that is most likely to reshape the boundaries and the canon of our discipline, and to reaffirm the place of philosophy as a core branch of contemporary knowledge.
