With the aim to support debris flow risk assessment and management in southern Campania a Geographic Information System (GIS) was implemented for two selected areas. The GIS provides the some basic themes useful for delineating debris flow hazard. They encompass geological and geomorphological maps as well as morphometric parameters like slope distribution, basin shape, drainage network, order of the stream or drainage density. Based on these data preliminary hazard proneness was discussed. A set of ortophotograms (AIMA) allows the assessment of the exposed values. The GIS is continuously updated and in the next future a more detailed zonation will be available.

Abstract
With the aim to support debris flow risk assessment and management in southern Campania a Geographic Information System (GIS) was implemented for two selected areas. The GIS provides the some basic themes useful for delineating debris flow hazard. They encompass geological and geomorphological maps as well as morphometric parameters like slope distribution, basin shape, drainage network, order of the stream or drainage density. Based on these data preliminary hazard proneness was discussed. A set of ortophotograms (AIMA) allows the assessment of the exposed values. The GIS is continuously updated and in the next future a more detailed zonation will be available.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
