Schambeck is certainly the best-known heir of the very famous Vienna School of Jurisprudence founded by H. Kelsen, A. Verdross and A. Merkl. Direct student of Adolf Merkl, he was able to provide a highly original synthesis of the legal doctrine of the Vienna School, by positions of critical reflections especially towards the essentially legal positivistic theories of H. Kelsen.
