Due lettere inedite di Franco Venturi a Maria Perotti nell'Archivio Adolfo Venturi: libri in prestito dalle biblioteche romane nel periodo di internamento

During the years of internment in Basilicata (1941-1943), Franco Venturi was able to continue his studies also by making direct and indirect use of some Italian libraries, which have preserved traces of his presence and requests in their reading and lending registers. Helped by some librarians, he attended the Provincial Library of Potenza and requested inter-library loans from several Italian libraries, not all of which have yet been identified. Furthermore, Maria Perotti, second wife of Adolfo Venturi, Franco's grandfather, borrowed books for him for a long time in the Central National Library of Rome, using postal services for shipments. The unpublished letters presented in this contribution prove both the complex organisation of book exchanges between Rome and Avigliano and the fact that Venturi also relied on Maria Perotti for bibliographical research and the selection of editions to borrow, sometimes providing her with summary indications, in other cases entrusting her with the task of choosing them on his behalf.

Durante gli anni di internamento in Basilicata (1941-1943), Franco Venturi poté continuare a studiare anche fruendo, in modo diretto e indiretto, di alcune biblioteche italiane, che hanno conservato traccia delle sue presenze e delle sue richieste nei registri di lettura e di prestito. Grazie all’aiuto di alcuni bibliotecari, frequentò la Biblioteca Provinciale di Potenza e richiese prestiti interbibliotecari a diverse biblioteche italiane, non tutte ancora identificate. Inoltre, Maria Perotti, seconda moglie di Adolfo Venturi, nonno di Franco prese a lungo libri in prestito per lui nella Biblioteca Nazionale centrale di Roma, utilizzando i servizi postali per le spedizioni. Le lettere inedite presentate in questo contributo testimoniano tanto le complesse modalità organizzative degli scambi dei libri tra Roma e Avigliano, quanto che Venturi si affidasse a Maria Perotti anche per le ricerche bibliografiche e la selezione delle edizioni da richiedere in prestito, fornendole a volte indicazioni sommarie, in altri casi incaricandola di scegliere in sua vece.
