The joint presentation of two volumes, published in Oxford in 2022 by Archaeopress and based on decades of field research carried out in the area of Gravina in Puglia and Irsina by international teams (A. Small, C. Small, Archaeology on the Apulian-Lucanian Border – M. Carrol, The making of a Roman Imperial Estate. Archaeology in the vicus at Vagnari, Apulia), has reactivated the debate on landscapes archaeology studies in the Murgia area, between Apulia and Basilicata, of which this contribution proposes a reasoned synthesis, expressed primarily through an examination of the works indicated.
La manifestazione di presentazione congiunta di due volumi, editi a Oxford nel 2022 per i tipi di Archaeopress e calibrati sulle pluridecennali ricerche sul campo svolte nell’area di Gravina in Puglia e di Irsina da équipe di lavoro anglosassoni (A. Small, C. Small, Archaeology on the Apulian-Lucanian Border – M. Carrol, The making of a Roman Imperial Estate.
