Politica de putere italiană în Marea Adriatică și estul Mediteranei după Marele Război / Italian power politics in the Adriatic Sea and the eastern Mediterranean after the Great War

The Treaty of Versailles, or rather the Peace of Paris complex that ended the Great War, leaves Italy, a victorious power, seriously dissatisfied with the territorial gains promised by the Entente Powers with the Treaty of London of 1915 and with a serious imbalance in geostrategic terms and the balance of power in the Mediterranean. In particular, the creation of Yugoslavia will deeply disappoint the expectations of the Italians who wanted full control of the Adriatic, by constituting a “full power power” on the eastern shore of this potentially competitive sea, partially missing the “debellatiodebellatio” advantages of the Austro Hungarian Empire. Moreover, the assumption of an Italian presence in the Mediterranean Levant will evaporate due to serious diplomatic conflicts with the wartime allies. The word would move to politics and diplomacy in the years b etween the two wars and to weapons in World War II.
