Dincolo de rezistență: contribuția intelectuală a femeilor la procesul de democratizare (1943-1950)

The essay aims to assess the forms of the commitment which, in the historical period between 1943 and 1950, came from some intellectual Italian women (Alba de Cèspedes, Anna Garofalo) as a kind of Civil Resistance”, not an armed one. Through anti fascist radiophonic propaganda, first, and an intense publishing activity, thereafter, they contributed to the process of ethical political regeneration of the Italian society, of re education towards the v alues of freedom and democracy, a premise for the constitution of the country’s republican institutions. Their commitment, moreover, favoured a revision of women’s social, political and intellectual role in view of the accomplishment of the democratization process, unthinkable in the absence of that female contribution which became substantial in the course of Assemblea Costituente’s works, engaged in the drafting of the Italian Republic’s Constitution.
