The essay attempts a reconstruction of the relationship between Gramsci and Mondolfo, and tries to verify the points of agreement and distance between the two authors. The phase of the polemical confrontation between the young Gramsci and the philosopher from Marche is considered as much as the judgment that the latter will express in the period following the second world War. From her we will proceed an overall critical assessment on the problems of the Philosophy of Praxis.
