As a laser user, I would like to take advantage of the strong data you reported on this widely debated and discussed topic, that is the photodynamic therapy in chronic periodontitis, in order to arouse interest among researchers and clinicians in performing and publishing similar studies on the subject, and also to make clear the need of special issues on authoritative journals like Lasers Med Sci to pose a milestone on this old subject over 30 years. The two oldest publications available in PubMed are both dated 1983 and are listed below [1, 2]. Thank you again for publishing this extremely interesting paper.
