The presence of Italian immigrants in Spain is not marginal. In fact, the Italian fluxes to this country have undergone a continuous growing trend in the last decades, multiplying itself in a relatively short period. However, a deeper study shows that more than 40 percent of this population is foreign-born (not Italian), mostly Latin-American. This is the reason why this paper is focus on the analysis of the evolution of fluxes, the territorial distribution and the socio-demographic profile of Italian citizens residing in Spain, always distinguishing by their place of birth (Italian or foreign-born). Following this line of research it is possible to identify two completely heterogeneous groups according the above mentioned elements: the Italians born in Italy and the Italians born abroad.
