The presence of Italian immigrants in Spain is not marginal. In fact, the Italian fluxes to this country have undergone a continuous growing trend in the last decades, multiplying itself in a relatively short period. However, a deeper study shows that more than 40 percent of this population is foreign-born (not Italian), mostly Latin-American. This is the reason why this paper is focus on the analysis of the evolution of fluxes, the territorial distribution and the socio-demographic profile of Italian citizens residing in Spain, always distinguishing by their place of birth (Italian or foreign-born). Following this line of research it is possible to identify two completely heterogeneous groups according the above mentioned elements: the Italians born in Italy and the Italians born abroad.

Abstract
The presence of Italian immigrants in Spain is not marginal. In fact, the Italian fluxes to this country have undergone a continuous growing trend in the last decades, multiplying itself in a relatively short period. However, a deeper study shows that more than 40 percent of this population is foreign-born (not Italian), mostly Latin-American. This is the reason why this paper is focus on the analysis of the evolution of fluxes, the territorial distribution and the socio-demographic profile of Italian citizens residing in Spain, always distinguishing by their place of birth (Italian or foreign-born). Following this line of research it is possible to identify two completely heterogeneous groups according the above mentioned elements: the Italians born in Italy and the Italians born abroad.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
