This document, edited and annotated by Franca Dellarosa and republished for the first time in this Rushton Bicentennial double volume of «La Questione Romantica», appeared as an obituary for Edward Rushton in the «Belfast Monthly Magazine» for 31 December 1814, pp. 474-85. Together with William Shepherd’s «Life of Edward Rushton», attached to his posthumous edition of Rushton’s _Poems and Other Writings_ (1824), it is the only extant first-hand testimony of the writer’s life.
