Oral Lichen planus (LP) is an immune-mediated disease of unknown etiology involving oral mucous. OLP lesions can be single or multiple and with the following clinical variants: papular, reticular, plaque-like, atrophic, erosive, and bullous. The antigen that activates the inflammatory immune reaction in OLP lesions is unknown. The literature reports a correlation between Human papillomaviruses (HPV) infections and Oral Lichen Planus. The present paper recapped the evidence to establish if HPV can be a player in the etiopathogenesis of the disease.

Abstract
Oral Lichen planus (LP) is an immune-mediated disease of unknown etiology involving oral mucous. OLP lesions can be single or multiple and with the following clinical variants: papular, reticular, plaque-like, atrophic, erosive, and bullous. The antigen that activates the inflammatory immune reaction in OLP lesions is unknown. The literature reports a correlation between Human papillomaviruses (HPV) infections and Oral Lichen Planus. The present paper recapped the evidence to establish if HPV can be a player in the etiopathogenesis of the disease.File in questo prodotto:
