Il cinquantennale della morte di K. Marx (1933) e l'analisi del Risorgimento. Aspetti del carteggio di Togliatti con Longo per la redazione de «Lo Stato Operaio»

The essay attempts to reconstruct the correspondence between Palmiro Togliatti and Luigi Longo regarding the celebration, in 1933, of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Karl Marx in the PCd’I journal «Lo Stato Operaio». In this respect, a comparison is attempted with the directives expressed by the Communist International. Moreover, the article attempts to highlight the importance that in this correspondence the themes of the relationship with the Risorgimental tradition assume, starting with Marx’s and Engel’s interpretation. This will lead to remarking how this celebratory campaign was closely related with the resump- tion of the ‘united front’ policy, in particular with regard to the socialists.
