Clinical case: A 48 - year old patient with syncope and dyspnoea exertion and diagnosis of hiv infection and HCV liver desease related to portal hypertension is admitted to our ward. Probably in patients with hiv infection and other conditions of risk of IAP, echocardiographic screening must be anticipated. There is a need for multicenter collaboration and registries in order to define the actual current prevalence of IAP in patients with HIV
