Asterius, bishop of Amasea in Pontus, is relatively little known and in the same way his production, although excellent source of information on Christianity of Asia Minor between 4th and 5th century, is generally little attended with some exceptions such as the ekphrases on St. Euphemia. ڷere are many assumptions about the nature of this text, the circumstances, and the era of composition. With the present contribution through the analysis of the text some of these theories and elements are clarified.
