Ovid provides a personal representation of the discidium and as a lover-poet, in an almost ‘embryonic’ form with respect to the subsequent didactic work, he tries to identify the remedies (ultimately the memory of the sufferings he has undergone) that can soothe the ‘tear’ from love, no longer deferrable. Also in relation to this fundamental moment of his poetic life, in addition to the Catullian one, Ovid favors the Propertian model, which he uses according to the compositional criteria characterizing the Amores.
