Giuseppe Massari, an Italian publicist, historian and politician, is better known for having taken part in the work of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into Brigandage, set up in 1862. On the bicentenary of his birth, I would like to propose once again a brief biobibliographical portrait to celebrate a ‘supporting actor’ of the Italian Risorgimento. He played a significant role in the cause of Italian unification alongside Vincenzo Gioberti and Cavour, first as an exile and then as a member of parliament. This role is also evident during the short constitutional period of 1848-1849. He took part in it with the specific intention of linking it to the broader context of the Risorgimento movement.

Abstract
He took part in it with the specific intention of linking it to the broader context of the Risorgimento movement.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
