La mediterraneità, categoria per una geopedagogia del XXI secolo

The contribution focuses on Mediterraneanity as a scientific category of a spatially determined and anthropologically founded geopedagogy, attentive to humanitas and, in particular, to dimension of identity, taken in its own openness to otherness and not in its absoluteness. The attempt to analyze the Mediterranean in its symbolic value and in a geopedagogical epistemological framework that recovers the relationship man-environment and assumes spatiality, temporality, ethos and the narrativity as coordinates of meaning can contribute to the reflection on educational sustainability for the 21st century.

Il contributo sofferma l’attenzione sulla mediterraneità, quale categoria scientifica di una geopedagogia spazialmente determinata e antropologicamente fondata, attenta all’humanitas e, in particolare, alla dimensione della identità, non già presa nella sua assolutezza bensì nella sua apertura all’alterità. Analizzare la mediterraneità nel suo valore simbolico e in una cornice epistemologica geopedagogica, che recupera il rapporto uomo-ambiente e assume la spazialità, la temporalità, l’ethos e la narratività come coordinate di senso, può contribuire alla riflessione sulla sostenibilità educativa per il XXI secolo.
