This paper aims to propose an interdisciplinary teaching unit comprising mathematics and literature for the second year of a Math high school(an Italian secondary school with a particular focus on mathematics) on the theme "Greek myths on the origin of numbers". By means of a guided analysis of ancient Greek literary texts dealing with myths on the origin of numbers (those of Theuth, Palamedes e Prometheus), students will identify the main functions that the ancient Greeks attributed to numbers and to mathematics, and then form a personal opinion on this topic.

Abstract
This paper aims to propose an interdisciplinary teaching unit comprising mathematics and literature for the second year of a Math high school(an Italian secondary school with a particular focus on mathematics) on the theme "Greek myths on the origin of numbers". By means of a guided analysis of ancient Greek literary texts dealing with myths on the origin of numbers (those of Theuth, Palamedes e Prometheus), students will identify the main functions that the ancient Greeks attributed to numbers and to mathematics, and then form a personal opinion on this topic.File in questo prodotto:
