This paper investigates the Thesaurus pauperum, a medieval medical work, and its Italian vernacular translations as a 'textual network' created by Latin scribes, translators and vernacular scribes, which we can call 'diasystem'. In particular, the essay presents a new recensio of the Italian vernacular tradition (cf. § Appendice). It reflects about the diasystem as a whole, focussing on the distinctive features of two complete volgarizzamenti and one anthology (§ 2), and on the characteristics of a single Pisan volgarizzamento, in order to distinguish between translator's choices and scribes' innovations (§ 3).
