Il volgarizzamento del Dancus rex nel codice Washington, D.C., Library of Congress, 101

L’articolo presenta l’edizione di un volgarizzamento anonimo del trattato di falconeria Dancus rex, tràdito dal codice Washington, Library of Congress, 101, databile ai primi decenni del XIV secolo e localizzabile nella Toscana occidentale, probabilmente a Pisa. L’edizione è accompagnata da un’indagine sul rapporto fra il volgarizzamento e i testimoni latini del Dancus rex e dall’analisi linguistica del testo volgare.

The article presents the edition of an anonymous translation of the Dancus rex, a treatise on falconry contained in the MS. Washington, Library of Congress, 101, datable to the first decades of the fourteenth century and possibly coming from western Tuscany, most likely Pisa. The edition is accompanied by an investigation into the relationship between this translation and the Latin witnesses of the Dancus rex and by a linguistic analysis of the vernacular text.
