The influence of the Italian sources on Pierre Boaistuau’s production goes far beyond the recongnized filiation between Bandello’s Novelle and his own Histoires Tragiques. The main features of Bandello’s production (brevity, specific lexical choices, and such stylistic features and rhetorical devices as suspense, echoes and internal repetitions) are discernible within a much wider and well known Italian tradition in vernacular, tht also spread abroad, and detes back to Poggio’s Facezie. The influence of the Italian sources on Boaistuau’s Histories tragiques deserves further inquiries and investigation.

Abstract
The influence of the Italian sources on Pierre Boaistuau’s production goes far beyond the recongnized filiation between Bandello’s Novelle and his own Histoires Tragiques. The main features of Bandello’s production (brevity, specific lexical choices, and such stylistic features and rhetorical devices as suspense, echoes and internal repetitions) are discernible within a much wider and well known Italian tradition in vernacular, tht also spread abroad, and detes back to Poggio’s Facezie. The influence of the Italian sources on Boaistuau’s Histories tragiques deserves further inquiries and investigation.File in questo prodotto:
