The contribution suggests an interpretation of the deceit and the disguise of the young Achilles in Skyros in Stazio’s Achilleide in an antropological key. The deviation from the eroic identity is attributed to the central role assiged to Teti in this phase and, therefore, to the predominance of the maternal model over the paternal one which determines an overturning of the cultural roman code.
