Un santuario marittimo lungo le rotte adriatiche. La grotta di Venere Sosandra a Vieste

In Vieste, the ancient Uria, on the island of Santa Eufemia, at the foot of the lighthouse, there are the remains of some caves that are part of an ancient maritime sanctuary, dedicated to Venus Sosandra. In recent times, a research project has been launched which involves both the documentation and reading of the hundreds of ancient, medieval and modern inscriptions on the walls and underwater investigations in the area of the island. This article provides the results of the first campaign.
