In this Chapter I analyse the stabilisation policies of the cycle and, in particular, the impact of such policies on employment, learning and innovation. I then focus on the relationship between public policies and instrumental freedoms, and conclude the Chapter with some guidance regarding taxation. Employment is one of the milestones of macroeconomic policies. The availability of better quality and better remunerated jobs is a precondition for learning processes, human development and growth.
