In this Chapter I analyse the interconnections between the Capability Approach and Innovation System theory. I begin with an analysis of technologies and processes of inclusive innovation. I then focus on the role of learning that is both a fundamental capability and the basic process in the operation of innovation systems. The third section is dedicated to equality and innovation. I then analyse the performance of institutions and democratic processes, the importance of the structure of living together, social capital, and social protection systems. I conclude this Chapter with a section bringing together these interconnections in a circular causation diagram.
