In this paper, I analyse three collections of Greek and Latin sources concerning Africa published, or just planned, between 1924 and 1939 by Silvio Ferri, Amilcare Fantoli and Francesco Beguinot. At first, I will briefly review the career and the scientific production of these three scholars. Then, I will show the strong link of their works with Italian colonial expansion towards Libya.
