In the modern competitive context firms, in order to survive and succeed, have to adopt a global perspective, trying to overcome domestic borders. In this internationalisation process, particularly referring to SMEs, the different forms of alliances play a key role. This work, first of all, analyses the issue of entities’ size. Then, it focuses on the globalisation process and its different strategic ways of achievement through alliances. In particular, the aim is to underline how these alliances allow to share not only resources but also technological and organisational skills. In this way, firms are able to achieve top results which would be difficult to achieve individually.
