This study addresses the problematic of fixedness and translation in French-Italian bilingual dictionaries. The analysis of two of these dictionaries confirms that translation requires an extensive knowledge of both of the languages involved and especially of the specialized domain to which it is applied. Nonetheless, French-Italian dictionaries are still far from satisfying the needs of experienced users, given that the latter use words in a particular context, which is often different from that provided by the dictionary.

Abstract
This study addresses the problematic of fixedness and translation in French-Italian bilingual dictionaries. The analysis of two of these dictionaries confirms that translation requires an extensive knowledge of both of the languages involved and especially of the specialized domain to which it is applied. Nonetheless, French-Italian dictionaries are still far from satisfying the needs of experienced users, given that the latter use words in a particular context, which is often different from that provided by the dictionary.File in questo prodotto:
