This paper aims to highlight, despite the scarcity of available documentation, the study of Greek and Latin languages and texts at the ancient Apulian University of Altamura (1748–1821). Furthermore, drawing on unpublished archival materials, including school registers and students’ notebooks, it sheds light on the ancient authors taught in the curriculum, as well as on teaching methods and study practices.
