The present contribution is part of the ongoing work aimed at researching and identifying the original material on which the names of Orobanche Linnaeus described for Europe and the Mediterranean are based. Orobanche ebuli Huter & Rigo, is an Italian endemic, exclusive to Lazio and Abruzzo. We did a survey of the original material and we found two herbarium specimens, one in BOZ and the other in NAP belonging to the original material. The specimen conserved in BOZ is in a better state of preservation. For this reason we selected this specimen as the lectotype. Orobanche ebuli appear a well characterized taxon deserving the rank of species.
