This study aims to investigate predictors of freshman academic performance and satisfaction six months after they enter the University. Factors analysed are: attendance to classes and other university facilities, such as laboratories, library, etc; students’ socialization strategies, met expectations about university life. Hierarchical regression was carried out to test the two models. Results show that satisfaction seems to be predicted by met expectations about University life and by the presence of a tutor in the adaptation process; whereas academic performance, calculated in terms of number of successful exams, seems to be predicted by the importance of guidance sessions during these six months. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
